I am glad to see that our FlexCase project has been picked up by Gizmodo and Wired.it! FlexCase is a novel flip cover for smartphones, which brings flexible input and output capabilities to existing mobile phones. It combines an e-paper display with a pressure- and bend-sensitive input sensor to augment the capabilities of a phone. The project is a collaboration between the Media Interaction Lab and I3D – Microsoft Research. I developed the machine learning algorithm that recognizes grip gestures precisely and in real-time.
For more information don’t miss our presentation at CHI 2016, San Jose, May 7 – 12, where FlexCase has been awarded the best paper award. The paper is already available.
